Cirque du Soleil – Dralion

Unusual

Unusual

Wow – there’s only a few days to go, so if you haven’t been to the supertop at Alexandra Park in Auckland to see Dralion, then what have you been doing?!

I went last night and it was brilliant. Cirque du Soleil shows always are. I’ve seen 7 of them now. Five in Las Vegas (there are 6 permanent shows there and a 7th will open at the end of the year all about Elvis).

I can’t decide which part I was most mesmerised with. This girl who balanced on one hand while twirling her body virtually inside out or the trampolinists who run up the 2-story vertical wall defying gravity then bounce down again. Just about everything about this show defies gravity. After a while things begin to look easy – until we tried to do one of the easier looking tricks even the bumbling clown guys can do. Not easy.

Most of the Cirque du Soleil performers are world-class gymnasts, dancers and elite athletes. Get along if you can. It’s breathtaking!
