Shoe shopping is right at the top of my Best Things to do in Rome list and right now you can get there with all sorts of bells and whistles thrown in.
I spent only 2 days roaring around the Eternal City. 2 days is silliness. I did put in a sterling effort to see and do eat and drink and photograph as much as physically possible, but 2 days was merely an appetiser.
I whipped around most of the must-sees but on the last morning I had a terrible choice to make. Would I go back and buy 2 pairs of shoes that were on sale at this amazing shop (we’re talking red stilettos with tie ups round the ankle) or forfeit them and see the Sistine Chapel… Eventually common sense prevailed and I realised I could buy postcards of the world’s most famous art gallery, but those shoes were not going to be on sale forever.
