Invent stuff for Air New Zealand & win tickets to London!

If you can come up with some crazy inventions for Air New Zealand by April 26th, you and a mate will win a ticket to London!

They need an eye mask, a fancy cocktail (to be shaken not whizzed) and a delicious snack to be served on the new 777-300.

We’re getting used to Air New Zealand’s quirky tactics these days: naked crew covered in nothing but body paint doing the safety briefing on domestic flights; ‘spooning’ couch seats coming out on the new 777-300 when it soars into the skies in November. But now they reckon they need help with the finishing touches on this new aircraft so they’re running a competition for people to enter the Aviation Design Academy and come up with a new cocktail, some tasty snacks or a funky eye mask.

If you reckon you’ve got what it takes to invent an original cocktail (how hard can it be? Apple and passionfruit with whisky sours please – and call it the Blogger at Large!! Lol – that’s a link to my apple crumble and cinnamon gelato invented at Giapo) or a tasty snack (how about salmon/cream cheese mousse in teeny filo cups?! But eat too many and it would be called the Large Blogger) or a stylish eye mask (this might take a little more effort with felt tips. Or a sewing machine) then click here to find out what you need to do to enter.

The winners in each category will have their enterprising idea made into the real thing AND they will get to fly WITH A MATE to London on the inaugural 777-300 flight next April 2011. To see the video entries already, and check out what you’re up against, click here.

But you have to be quick – the competition closes on Monday April 26, 2010.

Enter on Air New Zealand’s Facebook or YouTube pages or click here and head straight to the Aviation Design Academy.

Meanwhile meet Duan. But don’t worry, he’s not in contention to win…
