Christmas is knocking on the door and all through the land creatures are stirring … up grief in shopping malls and supermarkets as last minute panic buying takes place.
But you don’t need to panic because I have put together this life-saving list of great Christmas gift ideas for Kiwis that you can buy online and present on the day as if you were as organised as a library.
Heli wine tasting – book in at the Rees Hotel in Queenstown and the manager will host a helicopter tour of Central Otago and Wanaka and you’ll stop at Mt Difficulty and Rippon.
Tongariro white water rafting – if your family loves adrenalin, this is the gift for you!
Bridge Pa wine festival – we’ve all heard of Hawkes Bay wineries in Napier and Havelock North, but these ones in Bridge Pa (my old stomping ground just south of Hastings) are well worth visiting. This ticket includes a hop on/hop off bus and live entertainment.
Black Barn Vineyards – outdoor concerts and open air cinema under the stars in Havelock North.
Black Caps cricket – there are loads of tickets left for T20s, ODIs and test matches between New Zealand and Bangladesh, Australia and South Africa between Boxing Day and the end of March 2017.
Auckland Nines – it’s easy to forget the Nines with the Sevens being so huge, but a day out at the Nines on Feb 4 and 5 2017 would make a great gift for the right leagey!
Magazine subscription – I know this is a little boring, but not if your recipient loves cooking or sport or lifestyle mags, or even the gossip mags, this is the gift that keeps on giving all year.
WOW – I have the World of Wearable Art shows on my bucket list and your friend might too between 21 September and 8 October 2017.
My Food Bag – gift voucher. I personally love this! Let your parents or your sibling try out the home food delivery and they might get hooked enough to invite you over for dinner.
Luggage – I’m pretty picky about luggage and have chosen some special pieces for my own online store. This would make the ideal gift for someone planning a big 2017 trip.
