My poem to the All Blacks

The New Zealand All Blacks played their last game for 2016 against France on the weekend and I have been mulling over this “story book” for months. Clearly I have too much time on my hands (and fancy myself as a Lynley Dodd protege!) Read it to your kids…

All Blacks fans

Ready for the Chicago game…. (little did we know!)

Beauden Barrett ran like a carrot
Was dangling in front of his face

And Dane Coles found the holes
To throw it in the right place

Kieran Read had the speed
To push through a wall of French

But Ryan Crotty with the spotty botty
Went to sit on the bench

Israel Dagg seemed to play tag
As he ran it over the line

Brodie Retallick was most unangelic
So went off to have a wine

Wyatt Crocket popped like a sprocket
And got smashed under the scrum

Owen Franks was smarty pants
With Kaino up his bum

Leinert-Brown could lose his crown
For getting pinged off-side

But Waisake Naholo didn’t follow
As he ran it fast out wide

Yes Black and Blue got into a stew
And Barnes had to blow his whistle

But in the end the lads defend
And what we saw was gristle
