It's official, America's filthiest cities are…

It must be true because America’s Travel and Leisure Magazine surveyed their readers to find the country’s dirtiest city and while some think the scungy vibe of Baltimore or the grafitti in New York or the bar scene of Miami just adds to the city’s charms, these three are right up there in the dirty stakes.

So if you’re a pristine kind of traveller, who doesn’t want to set eyes on a cockroach, cigarette butt or a spray painted swoosh, then you should avoid:

A music store in New Orleans

1. New Orleans (especially for the Mardi Gras clean up)

2. Philadelphia

3. Los Angeles

4. Memphis

5. New York

6. Baltimore

7. Las Vegas

8. Miami

9. Atlanta

10. Houston
