While the rest of the US shivers under biting northerlies and snow storms, West Hollywood barely notices. With temperatures still in the early teens (celsius), there’s barely an excuse to buy yourself a new pair of winter boots. But of course you will, because above all else, one must LOOK the part when striding the streets of WeHo.
Here are five reasons visitors should check out West Hollywood this winter, courtesy of Jimmy Im.
Grab a drink at the new Church Key
Opened October 2013, The Church Key is the new buzz Sunset Boulevard, dishing up delicious dim sum and craft cocktails. It’s both trendy and sexy, like the locals who visit. While the quirky food cart waiters push around innovative plates of pig-ear Cheetos, creative dim sum and Benton ham, it’s the cocktails that had us at hello. And nothing gives you that warm, fuzzy feeling on a winters night like their specialty cocktail Golden Lorraine (D’usse Cognac, Benedictine, Clover Honey, Lemon, Anjou Pear).

Rub shoulders with A-listers at Hooray Henry’s
Co-owned by David Arquette, this new celebrity haunt, Hooray Henry’s, pays tribute to “old” London with retro British themes. We can’t guarantee Kate Moss and Jude Law sightings but we wouldn’t be surprised to find them at the bar ordering cocktails mixed with P-Diddy’s vodka, Ciroc.

Buy your pooch a winter wardrobe at Healthy Spot
Bringing pets to West Hollywood is not uncommon: the city loves animals, and provides plenty of pet amenities like dog parks, pet-friendly sidewalks and ubiquitous pet stores. Healthy Spot is a fun pet boutique that offers grooming, doggy day care and various treats. Bundle your dog up in some cute petwear from the store’s fall gear, like NFL-themed shirts, collars, jerseys and bandanas that are guaranteed to keep Fido warm. Truly.

Sunset Marquis: the hotel of the moment
Legendary rock and roll hotel Sunset Marquis recently celebrated its 50th anniversary with a celeb-packed party (recent sightings include Steven Tyler, Julian Lennon and Nick Jonas)—but the party’s just begun! Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood just off Sunset Blvd., the hotel went through a massive facelift. It has three pools, free passes to Equinox next door and a strong West Hollywood history music fans will appreciate.

Bespoke suits at Seize Sur Vingt
The West Hollywood outpost of this trendy NYC boutique is all about the future: 3D cameras are used to measure shoppers for a custom suit. Opened in September, Seize Sur Vingt has become a haven for local men and women wanting to look sharp on memorable nights out. The store is also complete with checked shirts, suede bucks and fashionable jackets.
