My TV clip about Santa Monica

Santa Monica is my favourite LA stopover for a couple of days before shooting off elsewhere.

It’s nice and close to LAX airport, has a huge sandy beach, great shopping (loving Anthropologie and dare I admit it, they have the biggest Forever 21 for those of us who like their mutton dressed as lamb. I also have to pop in to Lululemon, Miss Sixty, Mango and Zara).

The rooftop of Shangri La

On the weekends you’ll find an organic farmer’s market on the main road, and Santa Monica is known for its boutique hotels and groovy bars for perving at the celebrities who live right next door.

Last time I was there I stayed at the newly refurbished Shangri La with views of the ocean and the famous Santa Monica Pier that just turned 100. Even if you’re not staying here, pop up to the penthouse for a sunset cocktail!

Another fave of mine is the Viceroy. I’m a fan of Kelly Wearstler’s interior design and this hotel is a must for a drink or dinner in the pool cabana even if you’re not checking in for some pillow time.

Anyhoo, here’s my 3-minute video showing you some of the highlights…
