Crazy Las Vegas: Bare Pool Lounge

Love the T-shirt at Bare – the adults’ only pool lounge at the Mirage in Las Vegas!

All the clubs/bars/lounges over here seem to have one-word names. It must be hard to come up with them I reckon, and you’d be forgiven for thinking Bare at Mirage is just another one-word watering hole.

But unlike Pure or TaoBare is all about getting topless!  This is R21. Bathing “European style”, the website says.

"Don't worry it's coming off"
The top says “Don’t worry it’s coming off”

It’s just beside Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden (chuck the kids in there) because behind the walls of Bare are two pools surrounded by cabanas, day beds and sun loungers.

It’s described as an “exclusive adult alternative to the typical Las Vegas pool experience”. Girls get in for half price ($10 mid-week, $20 on weekends) and the whole idea is to fling your top off.

The afternoon I went in for a nosey (for blogging purposes you understand) I saw no topless ladies, although plenty of groups – including plenty of topless guys who just happened to be chilling out in the sunshine. Pervs!

A DJ-spins music and some people swim.

VIP service means cocktails and food are never far away.

And if you hire out a daybed or cabana (there’s a minimum spend so bring your posse) you’ll get pitchers of cocktails such as Mojitos, Bloody Marys and Sangria.

Oh and you’ll get chilled cucumbers for your eyes to hide your face from any staring; iced towels chilled in flavored water – to suck on perhaps (?); frozen fruit skewers; icy popsicles; mini fruit smoothies in shot glasses; and Evian misting bottles, super-chilled and ready to spritz yourself like a swimsuit model.
