Northern lights 2022/23 tours

Are seeing the Northern Lights and staying in a glass igloo on your Bucket List?

They have been on mine ever since I heard about them. I have been so fascinated by the aurora borealis and wanting to some day go to the North Pole and sleep a night in a glass igloo in the middle of the wilderness, that when I saw this escorted small group tour, I just had to let you know about it too.

How amazing is this?!

This 18-day Oslo to Helsinki tour will have a max of 24 guests touring through Norway and Finland. It includes a 6-night cruise, a night in an igloo and a visit to Santa’s village!

I’m not the one hosting (some day I will – sigh), but I wanted to share it with you and can help you make all the arrangements. You will have an English speaking tour guide with you from start to finish and be utterly wowed by the breathtaking scenery.

Riding the famous Flåm railw

Starting in Norway’s capital, Oslo, you’ll experience the iconic “Norway in a nutshell” over 2 days, including riding the famous Flåm railway.

There is time to tour Bergen, full of colourful old houses, before boarding a 6-night cruise up across the Arctic Circle to the town of Kirkenes.

Alesund, Bergen

Experience a little of life in coastal Norway as you call in at 34 ports, most being small hamlets and fishing villages that can be reached by water only.

Winter is a great time to visit and witness Norway’s majestic fjords. The fresh snow makes for a magical winter wonderland.

As much of your journey is spent above the Arctic circle, and it is winter, the chance of seeing the Northern Lights is very high! Your cabin onboard even has an “aurora” alarm, so you can wake up any time of the night to witness the dance of the Aurora Borealis.

Other fantastic bucket list experiences along the way include visiting Inari, the Sami capital to learn all about their fascinating culture and life in the extreme north.

Visit husky dogs, perhaps take a dog sleigh ride through the wilderness, spend a night in an igloo hotel, and call in to Santa’s village!

There are 32 tours going on this itinerary from September 2022 through to April 2023.
