After 34 years the All Blacks rugby team finally made it back to the United States.
We flew in to watch them whip the Eagles 74-6. But it wasn’t about the match for me, it was about the hoopla that surrounded it.
Here are a few photos I took at the sell-out 62,500 strong game at Soldier Field, Chicago…
Welcome to Chicago!
No guns allowed…
Soldier Field stadium. Imagine a stadium this beautiful in New Zealand. It would be the most iconic building in all the land!
And the crowd goes wild!
The pre-match hoopla at Soldier Field, Chicago
It was 4 degrees in the shade! (Love the cheering American behind me 🙂
Getting ready for the haka
The kiwis are in town!
Go All Blacks! I yelled. The muppets didn’t agree.
I’m in Chicago via Fiji thanks to Fiji Airways who fly out of Auckland and twice a week from Christchurch Airport to Nadi then on to LA with daily flights. A great way to get to America for South Islanders who don’t want to transit through Auckland
