Flight (seat and one bag per person) and airport transfers included.

Naples

Sunday 25 September

We begin in the southern Italian city of Naples for three nights as there’s just so much to see from Naples as our base.

We will arrive around 4pm and have time to relax in our hotel before we meet up with any new members joining the group over a drink. Then head out to a local restaurant and have our first taste of Napoli cuisine.

Our hotel for 3 nights is in central Naples and will be 4-star quality (examples are Palazzo Caracciolo Napoli, Mgallery; Constantinopoli 104, Grand Hotel Oriente) including daily breakfast.

Rome

No visit to Italy would complete without a few days in Rome! We will spend 2 nights here to see the highlights of the city, plus some hidden gems.

Wednesday 28 September

Transfer from our hotel in Naples to take the fast train to Rome and enjoy the views as we whiz through the countryside, and transfer to our hotel.

This afternoon we will put our trainers on and take a lovely walking tour (2-3 hours of casual walking) to explore the best of Rome.

We will include Jewish ghetto, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain and enjoy some local Roman food.

This evening we are in for a treat. We will take a private coach and local guide for dinner in Frascati. A small hilltop town just outside of Rome with spectacular views en route and once we get there. Rome’s best kept secret, Frascati, has an amazing wine and food culture with underground wine cellars, market squares and piazzas.

Dinner (cost included) at a local restaurant with stunning views of Rome, the sunset over St Peters church and the Mediterranean sea.

Accommodation for 2 nights in the Trastevere area, famous for its restaurants and cafes, piazzas and squares.

Today we’ll see the highlights and some hidden gems I can’t wait to show you. We’ll have skip the line tickets into the Colosseum with a private guide bringing this iconic Roman building to life.

Then we’ll walk nearby to take an underground Rome tour. Not many people even know about this, but we will discover a 1st century church just near the Colosseum.

Lunch is at own cost today from a nearby cafe.

This afternoon we’ll take a private transfer to the Vatican Museum and St Peter’s Basilica for a skip the line tour with a private guide.

Dinner is free time tonight, so we’ll head into Trastevere and find a restaurant that grabs us.

Friday 30 September

Today we take our private coach to Florence with a local guide to make stops along the way in Umbria and Tuscany and explore Civita di bagnoregio.

This semi abandoned town on top of a hill is just so cute. Bring your walking shoes as we’ll walk to the quaintest town you ever did see and find a lovely place for lunch.

Then we’ll continue on to Montepulciano, another hill top town with majestic views, but this one has underground wine cellars for wine tasting.

This afternoon we have free time and we’ll meet for a drink and those who want to join me for dinner (at own cost) at a great local place for an authentic Florentine experience.

Murano is famous for intricate glass. We will visit a private glassblowing factory and have time to browse the shops for a bauble or two!

Burano is a cute fishing island for us to explore the brightly coloured houses for photos and to shop for their famous linen and lace.

A real treat today will be a gondola ride through the canals back in Venice before our final farewell banquet dinner (cost included). We will leave the tourists behind and get into the heart of Venice to experience real local Venetian cuisine with wine and great Italian atmosphere.
