Join my Mexico Tour

April 2025

I love Mexico and think it’s super underrated! The food, the colours, the beaches and the Mayan culture. Not to mention the music and the tequila, the margaritas and tacos!

There is so much to see there so I am planning a tour in April 2025.

It will start with a few days in the USA. Depending on direct flights from Auckland, possibly in Chicago, or Houston (or even New Orleans), for maybe 3 nights.

We’ll then fly across the Gulf of Mexico to Cancun for 4 nights. We’ll stay in one of the fabulous all-inclusive resorts on the beach, and from there we’ll arrange some day trips to Chichen Itza, the Mayan pyramid that you’ll have seen pictures of. On the way we’ll stop at Tulum and learn about this ancient culture and architecture. The Yucatan is a fascinating region with many cenotes (water holes and water falls) for swimming in.

We’ll also make lots of time to relax in our resort, enjoy the pools and the many restaurants, all of which are all-inclusive. It might even be hard to tear you away to head to a local market or venture up the beach to explore!

Then we will fly to Cabo for 4 nights and stay in the town of Cabo San Lucas. I’m looking at a hotel with views over the marina, which is nice and central and means we’ll be able to pop out and about without having to get taxis from the beaches further away.

We’ll also look at the all-inclusive packages here, mainly for the drinks! But locally we’ll try the food (Sammy Hagar, from Van Halen fame, owns a Taco bar here), and enjoy some boat trips and local shopping. We will plan a day trip to the historic San Jose del Cabo just down the road. They have an art walk every Thursday as there are many galleries and boutiques here.

Then we’ll fly to Palm Springs, California for 3 nights. I’ve been here about 5 times and want to show you the lovely mid-century modern homes, take a day trip to Joshua Tree National Park. We can have a spa day at a beautiful new native American spa built in town. We’ll stay in town and make lots of free time to shop, eat, try a date shake (they grow Medjool dates here).

I’ve written about other activities in Palm Springs in my post here.

Then fly home from Los Angeles (about a two-hour drive from Palm Springs), or you can leave us and go on from there. We can assist with any other arrangements if you’d like.

This tour is still being worked on and we are reaching out to hotels and guides to get quotes in. Please email me (megan @ bloggeratlarge. com – without the gaps, that’s just to stop the bots) if you’d like to be added to the list of those interested in this trip, and you’ll be the first to know when it’s ready. 🌵🥑🪇
