A quick-scroll photo shoot of Queenstown and Central Otago

If you’re looking for a spectacular road trip itinerary in New Zealand, you really should start here.

During the Covid times when international travel was off-limits, I organised some domestic NZ tours, and this one in Queenstown and Central Otago was fabulous.

We started with four nights in beautiful Queenstown, which is a great base for some day trips, or afternoon drives. We drove out to Glenorchy, where a couple got engaged on the pier (I managed to snap a photo below), and took a cruise across the late to Walter Peak Station for afternoon tea.

We drove the 20-or so minutes to visit cute Arrowtown, then stayed a couple of nights in Wanaka and two more in a stunning old hotel in Clyde with lots of great spots in between.
